To tackle water-based latex, acrylic, emulsion and school paint stains on clothes, rinse wet stains under running water and then wash with Ariel Sunrise Fresh or Ariel Power Gel according to the fabric care label. For dried paints and those that are oil or varnish based, then apply white spirit or a proprietary paintbrush cleaner (apply in small amounts, and test on a small area before proceeding) with a sponge carefully before washing.
Tar and oil
Scrape off as much of the stain as possible. Then soften the remainder with margarine or butter and wipe away with a clean cloth. Treat any residual stain with a proprietary tar cleaner and then, if you are a powder detergent user, wash with Ariel Sunrise Fresh according to the fabric care label. If you prefer liquid detergents, try Ariel Power Gel.
Daily wear soon leaves collars and cuffs with a layer of dirt that can seem hard to shift. Give your garments a new lease of life when washing mud out of clothes by pre-treating any dirty areas with Ariel liquid detergent and leaving it for 10 minutes before washing as normal. Alternatively, you can soak the stain in a solution with Ariel Sunrise Fresh powder before washing.

Let the mud dry and scrape off as much as possible. Then soak the garment with Ariel powder detergent and wash as normal – all forms of Ariel laundry detergent will give brilliant results.
